FAFSA

Free Application for Federal Student Aid

Financial Aid is available to help pay for the cost of your postsecondary education. The federal government is the main provider of financial aid for college.  Grants, loans and work-study are the three categories of aid students may be eligible to  receive. If you wish to be considered for financial aid, you MUST fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which is available after January 1st for the following school year. Be sure to pay attention to deadlines which vary from college to college.

To apply, visit www.fafsa.gov or call 1-800-4-FED-AID. You can also visit www.studentaid.ed.gov to find detailed information on Federal Student Aid programs.

CSS PROFILE

Some colleges require you to fill out the CSS PROFILE as well as FAFSA.  The PROFILE is an online application that collects information used by certain colleges and scholarship programs to award institutional aid funds. Unlike the FAFSA, there is a cost associated with filing the PROFILE; $25 for the initial application and one college/program. Each additional report is $16.
