Principal's Message
Davisville Middle School services various family-friendly neighborhoods in the northeast region of beautiful North Kingstown. Davisville Middle School houses students in grades 6, 7, and 8 and is committed to providing students with pathways for academic and personal success through challenging and diverse educational opportunities. Davisville embraces the middle school philosophy of teaming.
In addition to core academic classes, students take various unified arts courses: computer science, financial literacy, robotics, music, chorus, band, strings, Spanish 1, world cultures, wood technology, art, and media science. To assist students in strengthening basic skills, support classes are offered in the areas of reading and math.
Extracurricular activities are an essential extension of our school day. Our offerings vary year to year based on student interest. Recently we offered International Club, Video Game Club, Yearbook, Math Counts, and Homework Club. Previously we also offered Science Olympiad, robotics, chess, school newspaper, and leadership team. Athletics are also an option at Davisville. Students can participate in a variety of sports: soccer, cross country, wrestling, basketball, baseball, softball, track, and a Unified program.
Davisville community communicates clear and explicit expectations for positive social and learning behaviors. Students are nominated for the “Student of the Week” or “Be the Best You Can Be” award. Students earn High Honors, Honors, or placement on the Effort Roll based on academic performance.
The social-emotional learning program at Davisville centers on the RI standards: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
Through collaboration and teamwork, our faculty and staff members acknowledge the unique needs of our developing teens. Our faculty provides access to challenging curricula through differentiated and collaborative lessons. To strengthen our school community our staff strives to make personal connections and build relationships with each other and our students. We challenge ourselves and our students to live up to our motto, "Be the Best You Can Be"!
